The Instacoach Approach
Therapy can support your child through a variety of things, such as self-discovery, stress, life events, or mental health issues. Therapy can also be used to prevent minor issues from turning into problems later on.
Sometimes, even just a few therapy sessions can make a big difference to your child’s overall well-being. Here at Instacoach we never adopt a one size fits all approach. Taking the time to get to know your child and understanding their thoughts and fears are key to unlocking their inner potential and exercising their full right to a life of happiness.
Why fit in when you were born to stand out!
We cover a wide range of topics and issues which are all detailed below.
Please get in touch if there is a subject we have not covered.

Motivation
We provide your child with special strategies to ensure they stay motivated. Motivation is a state that energises, directs and sustains behaviour and is a key component to success.

Self Sabotage
Self-sabotage refers to beliefs and behaviours that prevent us from achieving our goals, hopes, and dreams. It is a very normal part of the human experience, something we all do from time to time—often without fully realising we’re doing it. Fortunately, knowing the types of self-sabotage, where it comes from, and some helpful tips to neutralise it can help your child overcome a fierce inner critic.

Social Anxiety
When children have social anxiety, they worry about or fear situations that involve interacting with other people. Social anxiety can stop children from joining and enjoying classroom discussions, parties and friendship groups. We help children learn to manage social situations by giving them chances to practise interactions and praising their efforts.

Anger
Anger is a normal, healthy emotion. But many kids struggle to understand the difference between angry feelings and aggressive behaviour. Frustration and anger can quickly turn into defiance, disrespect, aggression, and temper tantrums when kids don’t know how to deal with their emotions.

Failure to Launch
Failure to launch syndrome is not a true diagnosis, but rather is a common way to describe a young adult who is struggling with the transition to adulthood. It can be defined as an inability to leave home and support oneself, regardless of the underlying cause. Young adults struggling with failure to launch (or failure to thrive) may appear to be “stuck” or not maturing in an age-appropriate way. Our coaching and therapy sessions will help them get on the right track.

Stress & Anxiety
Anxiety, to some extent, is a normal emotional state, but if you’ve noticed your child has been experiencing anxiety symptoms for an extended period of time, it may be time to seek professional help. With the right treatment and support, your child can learn new coping mechanisms to help them manage their symptoms.

ADHD
Behaviour therapy is an effective treatment for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) that can improve a child’s behaviour, self-control, and self-esteem. It is most effective in young children.

Suicide & Self Harm
So many young people around the UK are struggling to deal with thoughts of suicide and self-harm. If your child is self-harming, or you’re concerned they might be, it can be incredibly worrying and upsetting for you as their parent. The important thing to remember is that you and your child are not alone – lots of young people go through this and come out the other side with different ways of coping with their feelings.

Power
Equipping your child with the right information prior to their session is time well spent and will ensure you both get the most out of your session.
Do I need to stay with my child?
No, You may stay for the first session if you think it’s necessary however the sessions will work better on a 1 – 1 basis and the child will open up more if it’s just them and me. It’s important that we begin to build a relationship as soon as possible.
How do I Book?
The first step is to book a consultation – this can be done by contacting us or using the book now button. Consultations are done via a phone call and are generally around 10-20 minutes long. It’s important that the consultation is done as I’m able to get the information needed before we begin the sessions. Consultations are free – sessions cannot take place until we have had the initial consultation.
How long do sessions last?
Sessions last around 30 – 40 minutes. This time has shown the best results when working with children and young people, especially when discussing trauma, grief and emotions. Therapy can be tough, it’s important that they take their time.
How many sessions will my child need?
There is no limit to how many sessions they will need – every child is different. I suggest weekly sessions to begin with and then we can discuss how they’re doing and whether to keep it at weekly or drop it to fortnightly. The aim is for the child to be able to use the skills they’ve learnt with me and be able to handle situations, experiences and tough times in the future.
How much are the sessions?
Sessions are £45 per session, these can be booked in a block of 5 or 10 at a discounted rate or PAYG.
How to prepare?
Reassure them that they don’t have to share anything they feel uncomfortable sharing. If they’re not ready to talk about something, they don’t have to.
Make sure your child knows it’s OK to say, “I don’t know,” or “I don’t want to answer that.” Knowing that they have power in the therapeutic relationship may help to relax your child before our first session.
Where do the sessions take place?
Sessions are held at the clinic in Bagworth community centre, Station Road LE67 1BH. Some sessions may be conducted in school – this can be discussed during the consultation
What results can I expect?
We will work together to establish treatment goals so that your child’s progress can be measured and you can track the results of therapy. How long it takes your teen to progress depends on the severity of their condition.
